Junior Camp
At Junior camp, campers start and end the day with God… starting with morning Bible Discovery which is a kid-friendly bible study full of fun, games, singing and learning and ending their day with a devotion to God with their cabin groups. Evening campfire full of song and praise brings our day to a close as the sun sets at water’s edge. All week long, campers will be helped to discover God in their own life, through sharing and caring leaders who take joy in celebrating faith together, all in a fun and accepting camp setting. Alongside our times together in worship, we enjoy swimming, canoeing and playing on the beach, field & forest games, and arts and crafts. Theme meals are great fun, from Shipwreck to Twin meal, and our Skit & Talent Show is an annual hit. We love to see your kids shine as they giggle their way through “JC Penny”. Nothing compares to the feeling of belonging, and Camp VIP strives to give your kids a carefree adventure as they come closer to God. Teen Camp
More than ever before, teens need to find themselves in a place where everyday pressures can be left behind and the best place for that is camp. At Teen camp, youth are able to relax and enjoy choosing fun activities each morning and afternoon as well as experiencing real worship with their friends each day, worship that is prepared especially for them. We strive to provide great teachers who will engage and challenge your teens to discover God’s place in their lives and a safe and healthy community to explore their spirituality. Alongside our times together in worship, we enjoy swimming, canoeing and playing on the beach, field & forest games, and arts and crafts. Youth are able to spend quality time with leaders through different activities while they forge friendships and become rooted in our camp family. Campers love the atmosphere of big family fun when we dress up for Pirate meal or A Night in India, or head out for Mission Impossible and we encourage everyone to participate but at their own comfort level. We allow youth to play and celebrate each other with joy, and a belief that God is in every moment we are together. Bible Breakaway – NEW!
Are you wondering if you are going to come to camp one more time? Not sure if you should, now that you’re “all grown up”? Everyone loves to come to camp but not everyone feels equipped to come as staff. This year we are offering a small number of young adults the chance to come for a program of self exploration according to the Bible, finding out how to keep your walk whole and healthy as you begin to move into a world away from home, church and school. You’ll take part in assisting the camp leaders with some of the day-to-day needs of camp as part of the program, as well as enjoying activities arranged just for you, away from the regular camp schedule. Most of all take this opportunity to rest and prepare to step out in faith into God’s next chapter, written just for you. Leaders in Training Program
“Am I really the right person to be placed in a leadership role?” Leaders in Training programs can be a safe environment to determine what you are capable of and what you have an aptitude for. Often it is at camp that youth have the opportunity to break out of the roles and labels that they have been given at school or home or even in their church youth group. In these settings they meet people who don’t know that they are a gifted athlete, star of the academic team, drummer in the marching band or the shy kid who sits alone at lunch. They have a chance to see themselves and others in a new light, the light of Christ, which reveals that much of what others value and evaluate is unimportant to God. Youth are surrounded by messages that try to sell them something, that tell them that they aren’t “enough”. The message of the Gospel is radically different from those voices and at camp with cell phones turned off and the internet inaccessible, God’s message that, through Jesus Christ, we are beloved Children of God becomes clearer. Leaders in Training programs can bring confidence and a comfort level both in the hands-on actions of learning to lead “Capture the Flag”, and the willingness to talk to others about what they believe. Leaders in Training July 5-10, 2010 14-16 yrs $150 Cowichan Lake Outdoor Education & Conference Centre
